The phase before the operation
The tomography recorded before the operation gives us preliminary information about your nose and helps us with the planning. Since the operation is performed under general anesthesia, your preoperative examination will be carried out by anesthetists. With the nose simulation an approximate view of your new nose shape can be adjusted in your photo. Although these pictures are not very realistic, they offer an insight into what we can do for you and your wishes. Patients who come to us always have some ideas about the shape of the nose they want. Of course, we plan our plans according to your wishes, but you should keep in mind that according to aesthetic rules, the nose sizes and angles that are most suitable for your face are determined by your doctor in order to achieve the most natural and realistic appearance of the nose.
The phase after the operation
The operation takes about 2-4 hours. Ice cream applied to your face half an hour after the operation is very important to avoid swelling and bruising in the first 24 hours. We often put silicone tampons in our noses during the operation. These tampons are usually removed within 1-3 days. Although every procedure is different, plaster is usually applied to your nose, which is removed after a week. You will be released the same day or the next morning. In the meantime, sprays and creams are used for washing your nose. It is very important to protect yourself from bumps as the first month is the most sensitive time for the nose to heal. It is therefore not possible to wear glasses during such an intervention. Lenses or devices that keep your glasses upright can be worn. Your nose will be swollen after the operation. The decrease in swelling that is completed at the end of the nose extends from about 6 months to a year. After the operation, as with any operating area, we recommend protecting yourself from the sun. These complaints will go away within the first 6 months.
Is removing tampons painful?
Unfortunately, instead of surgery, the fear of tampons being removed is a complaint that we often hear. Silicone tampons, which are soft and have a hole in the middle, provide support for easier breathing after the operation, but you will not feel uncomfortable when removing these silicone tampons.
